Making a leader of Joshua Eyaru


In the meteorological Summer of 2015, Joshua Eyaru joined a group of twelve young men and women to undertake the postgraduate certificate in applied ICTs and Leadership at IHSU. The journey of big laughs, major career strides and long hours of personal growth. When you walked into the playfully beautiful room, one student, notably quiet, keeping to himself silently stood out. Awards Gala (Pictorial)

IHSU held the first Awards Gala on 15th June, 2016 at Protea Hotel Kampala. We hosted guests from ICT and Health sectors who witnessed the presentations about the state of Health care in Uganda vis-a-vis technology and ICT developments, project presentations from the best of the first and second cohorts of the APplied ICT and Leadership classes. The night also saw the launch of the Business Accelerator, Lift256 which will offer different aspects of business-related services, expertise as well as financial support to viable ideas starting with those born out of the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied ICT and Leadership training and eventually from across the board in Uganda.  

Hacking For Health- SRHR Awareness


Over the weekend of May 13th – May 15th, a group of six students from the 1st and 2nd Applied ICT & leadership program cohorts took part in a challenge presented by Marie Stopes Uganda in conjunction with Hostalite Cyber academy, to devise ways to disseminate Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights information better, amongst the youth in Uganda. A first for us because we had not participated in developing any projects outside those selected as part of our course work.
